Technical Account Manager (all industries) M/F/D

SUMMARY
This position reports into the Technical Account Management Team Leader for the respective Industry segment (*). Main responsibility is to provide customers a personal connection into ANSYS and to facilitate engagement and success with ANSYS subscriptions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Account Focus:
  • Contribute to Account Strategy (Account Plan), supporting strategy definition and driving execution (Technical Account plan). Initiate customer-specific engagements.
  • Support Account Managers to qualify opportunities and campaigns by understanding the customer's current and desired state, and associated challenges and critical success factors, connecting business initiatives with ANSYS’ technology.
  • Responsible for assessing, managing and meeting customer expectations – no surprises.
  • Provide Engineering Team Leaders with the necessary insight into business priorities for activities in customer accounts.
  • Work with the Engineering Team Leaders, as well as with the extended ANSYS team, to ensure projects are appropriately staffed and delivery goals are meeting customer expectations.
  • Is the customer surrogate within ANSYS, and the face of ANSYS to the customer’s engineering and product development community.
  • Technology Footprint Expansion – Working with the EAM/SAM to leverage proper technical resources to assist in the effort to expand the Ansys footprint globally. This includes displacing the competition where possible.
  • Maintaining a good understanding of all ANSYS technologies, and how these (potentially) provide value to customer’s business.
  • Together with the Sales Partner, developing the strategic account plan which suits the customer’s roadmap and supports their business. Driving campaign execution.
  • Being communicative, proactive and responsible for identifying potential areas of concern for customers before they arise.
  • Being customers personal connection into ANSYS.
Industry Focus:
  • Support complete GTM impact, actively contribute to, collect and re-use campaigns and success stories within Enterprise and Strategic, but also expanding to Territory
  • Team up with Engineering Team to provide application expertise from an industry/customer perspective, to identify new offerings, create and adapt the Value Proposition.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, computer science or other technical discipline
A minimum of 6 years of experience in a High-Tech Sales/Engineering Environment, credible experience at ANSYS or other engineering software company involved with technical and customer services and support.
Understanding of ANSYS products, technology and how these tools are used by our customers in their product development process.
Demonstrated experience partnering with Sales, Marketing and Development teams to meet targets.
Must have passion and drive for innovation, personal technical excellence and high performance
Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize.
Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration and coordination with personal distributed across multiple global sites
Good understanding of the competitive landscape, market trends and customer needs in the area of Platforms, Design/Simulation Environment, Simulation Data and Process Management, IP-Management, Integration, Automation, Scalable Solutions, Extensible Ecosystems, Materials Databases. Translating these requirements into relevant development initiatives for EMEA Field Engineering.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • MS or PhD degree preferred
  • Active ANSYS Employee with respective experiences and insights.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%
  • Fluent in English, plus at least one more European language like French or German.
