Software Developer II - full stack/Angular


In the ANSYS Simulation Process and Data Management (SPDM) team, we help our customers to tame computer-aided engineering (CAE) complexity and to accelerate innovation by synchronizing and elevating their people, systems, content and processes. We seek a Software Developer II to design and implement new infrastructure, features, and user experience.


• Advance the software development lifecycle by planning and completing tasks within the requirements of the ANSYS development process.
• Perform design, implementation and maintenance of multiple product modules.
• Maintain and extend the build & deploy tool chain
• Research and develop solutions to problems discovered by QA or product support.
• Conduct unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.
• Research new technology and development tools to remain informed of current trends and innovation.
• Other duties as assigned, and as needed to deliver on project goals.


• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field plus 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree plus 2 years of experience
• Experience developing web front-end using Angular
• Experience developing web services using languages such as Python, Javascript, C#/.NET Core
• Good understanding of web architecture, distributed systems and web APIs (such as REST, gRPC)
• Strong knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation
• Strong understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance
• Strong skills in research and analysis, project planning and implementation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed organization


• Expertise in database development using either SQL or non-SQL technologies such as MongoDB, Cassandra, MS SQL
• Experience with TFS/Azure DevOps
• Experience with cloud computing technologies (AWS/Azure) and containerized application management (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience in PLM, PDM, CAD and CAE software development
