Software Developer I – Explicit Dynamics

SUMMARY
The Software Developer is responsible for the design and development of new software modules or products in support of Workbench Mechanical products, including ACT Extensions and other customization tools. The focus of the Software Developer is developing engineering simulation tools within the corporate software framework.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research, design, develop, document and maintain the object-oriented simulation software modules within the corporate software framework
  • Translate engineering representation of simulations into numerical solvers representation
  • Develop and maintain ACT Extensions and other customization tools essential to the business unit
  • Ensure the developed software is functional on all the ANSYS supported platforms such as Windows, Linux
  • Other job-related duties such as defect correction may be assigned by management from time to time
  • Engages a network of expert professionals to collaborate and accomplish development objectives

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Computer Science/Computer/Software Engineering or Mechanical and 1 year of experience (or B.S. degree in one of the same fields plus 5 years of experience) as a commercial software developer
  • Experience of design and implementation of object-oriented application features in C# on .NET using applicable design patterns, Python, and programming in C++
  • Working knowledge on Linux environment
  • Experience in using Microsoft Visual Studio and Software Configuration management tools (CVS, SVN, GIT)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English
  • Proven ability to collaborate in an open, multi-disciplinary, intense team environment and the passion to create high quality software
