Senior Software Build Engineer

The senior software build engineer will fill a key position responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining all phases of software build management for the Meshing Development Unit. Duties include closely working with distributed cross functional teams developing next generation engineering software, maintaining existing custom scripts, integrating open-source and third-party tools and making impactful improvements to the build tools and processes

• Design, configure and maintain tools for generating, deploying and monitoring ANSYS product builds on Windows and Linux platforms.
• Architect, develop, implement and maintain fully automated build chains using continuous integration tools.
• Investigate, debug and resolve platform-specific build failures and issues in development, testing and production environments and improve performance and reliability of the overall product builds.
• Work in a collaborative manner with members of the software development, infrastructure and testing teams and take ownership of the overall build processes and integration of open source and third-party tools.
• Execute acceptance tests to ensure product build stability and conformance to company quality standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other Engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the Software build environment.
• Experience building software on Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps Server (previously Microsoft Team Foundation Server TFS) or similar (TeamCity, Jenkins).
• Experience with IDEs such as Microsoft Visual Studio and compiler suites such as Intel and GNU.
• Experience with programming such as C/C++, C#, Fortran, Java.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, shell scripts.
• Experience with build tools such as SCons, CMake, Ant/Nant.
• Knowledge of version control systems and branching strategies with Git.
• Extremely strong in written and interpersonal communication skills.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other Engineering discipline and 4 years of experience in the Software build environment.
• Exceptional debugging and troubleshooting skills in complex environment.
• Experience working with cloud tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with dependency management software such as Conan and NuGet.
• Experience with container technology such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working with open source software and processes.
