Senior Field Applications Engineer

The Senior Applications Engineer is responsible for leveraging expert-level engineering knowledge and relationships to support customer accounts with significant impact on software revenue, as well as for helping customers to solve complex engineering problems using ANSYS software products. This role provides technical pre-sales and post-sales support.


Product Support:
•Support customers promptly and effectively in order to improve customer productivity and satisfaction with the Helic product family, particularly in the area of Chip-Level Electromagnetic Crosstalk
•Apply knowledge in the areas of Electromagnetic analysis and sign-off for High-Speed Analog, Mixed-Signal, RF and mmWave designs using the Helic tool suite and various other CAD tools to solve problems in complex Systems-on-Chip (SoC)
•Take ownership of one or more strategic accounts and/or business/technology initiatives for strategic and tactical business needs

Customer Training:
•Train customers on the usage of Helic products to increase their proficiency, independence, and success; use technical excellence to show leadership to customers in the usage of our products

Key Customer Business Development:
•Consistently improve our understanding of customer workflow and technical needs and communicate new opportunities and risks to Sales; proactively work to grow the software usage by demonstrating new solutions based on the ANSYS vision and software

Sales/Pre-sales Assistance:
•Demonstrate the value of the ANSYS vision and software to sales prospects through collaboration with direct and indirect Sales in order to grow sales volume in existing markets
•Assist in running product evaluations and benchmarks for prospective customers

•Hold progress update meetings with global and local customers
•Mentor local or remote AE team by using tool knowledge and domain expertise

•BSEE with minimum 6 years of experience in an engineering software environment, or MSEE with minimum of 4 years experience in an engineering software environment with the emphasis on high-frequency electromagnetics or other technical discipline
•Deep understanding of Electromagnetic effects on the SOC and 3DIC level
•Demonstrated use of commercial EDA software, including Custom IC Design Platforms and back-end design flow tools for LVS and LPE
•Familiarity with Advanced Node, FinFET design processes
•Demonstrated use of Linux environments
•Knowledge of signal and power integrity, including cross-talk analysis, eye diagrams and power delivery network is also a plus
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate and conduct webinars and presentations to customers
•Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives
•Demonstrated skills in writing and presenting in fluent English
•Logical problem-solving approach and the ability to clearly communicate the situation and proposed solution to the customer
•Projects a professional image and strong business acumen during customer interactions
•Possesses a sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow up skills

•PhD degree preferred
•Must have passion and drive for personal technical excellence and high performance
•Must have customer service aptitude and maintain customer focus
•Ability to travel up to 25%
