Senior Director of Global Infrastructure

The Sr. Director of Global Infrastructure is accountable for ANSYS’s technology infrastructure, service delivery, strategy, and operations. The scope of the position includes ANSYS’s internal facing global technology infrastructure & operations. The role is a global role instrumental in improving customer experience with both internal and external customers. The primary objectives of this position will be to drive quality in our technology operations in a very cost-efficient manner, adapt to the dynamics of business, and position and enable the company for growth through digital transformation. The scope of the position includes cloud, multiple global data centers, servers, storage operations, disaster recovery, security, personal computers and mobile devices, telecommunications and conferencing, and service desk.

•Manages core internal IT staff on a global basis. Establishes key working relationships with other internal IT groups, product development and other business functions
•Develop and implement a future state data center strategy that could include cloud, on-prem and co-location options
•Authorize and oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance and support of all enterprise hardware, software, networking and telecommunications systems.
•Responsible for disaster recovery and business continuity, including planning, documentation, implementation and testing for all platforms. Leads the organization in the resumption of services in the event of serious disruption of technology services
•Owns and manages the Change / Release management processes across environments in partnership with the broader technology team
•Participates in the development and review of budgets and ensures they comply with stated business goals, guidelines, and objectives
•Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology spending and initiatives.
•Responsible for key vendor relationships; performance and SLA’s, incident handling and issue/problem resolution and escalation, billing review and approval, and contract negotiations
•Provide thought leadership, strategic technology roadmaps, and best practices for the selection and deployment of all infrastructure used throughout the company consistent with (and providing input to) strategic / long-range planning. Introduces and enforces best practices for IT services in support of all areas of the Information Technology department.
•Support projects by partnering across the IT teams and the business to budget for Infrastructure services, hardware and software, plan use of internal and external Infrastructure resources, and develop the relevant tasks and milestones for Infrastructure to ensure successful delivery of the projects.
•Responsible for implementation of security policies, and partnering with the Global Security Director for the execution of regular security audits, remediation of findings, and the implementation of risk mitigation activities, where applicable.
•Reviews performance and capacity of IT systems to manage the optimization of operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements.
•Manages the benchmarking, analysis and recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
•Oversees the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value to the enterprise.
•Build and maintain a strong functional team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, team building, and succession planning. Directs education and training programs for her/his staff.
•Develop, maintain, and continuously improvement processes, systems and technology, measurement practices, and metrics reporting.
•Must be able to operate in a 24 x 7 global operation and support environment

•Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field is required.
•7 – 10 years related experience.
•Multiple years of experience managing global teams
•Multiple years of data center experience including cloud, on-prem and co-location options

•Ability to coordinate and lead complex cross-functional projects given multiple competing priorities or perspectives
•Strong “service provider” and “business partner” orientation. A visible, collaborative and accessible leader to both the IT organization and the rest of the business.
•Ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies
•Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations that require sound decision making and may involve confidential or sensitive matters
