Senior Application Engineer


ANSYS India is looking for Technologist with strong background and expertise in lighting simulation to drive adoption and growth of ANSYS OPTIS business across industries using lighting systems such as automotive, electronics, lighting, aerospace, defense and so on.

The Technology Specialist shall be responsible for leveraging expert-level engineering knowledge and relationships to support Optical industry customers and help them solve complex engineering problems using ANSYS OPTIS family of software products including SPEOS, VRX and Aesthetica.


•Guide customers in the proper usage of different ANSYS OPTIS products like SPEOS, VRX and Aesthetica, right from problem definition to problem setup, solution, visualization and interpretation, in order to improve customers’ productivity and satisfaction.
•Lead in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity such as customer meetings and product presentations, demonstrations and evaluations.
•Create and demonstrate simulation solutions to streamline customer workflows, in support of the software sales process.
•Work collaboratively with customers to ensure their successful use of ANSYS Optis products and develop/strengthen long-term relationships with customers.
•Seed opportunities to expand software usage or cross sell during customer interaction
•Work independently to analyze technical needs, requirements, and state of a customer’s current infrastructure, operations, and engineering workflows.
•Instruct intermediate and/or advanced training classes on the usage of ANSYS OPTIS products
•Deliver Consulting projects on Lighting simulation.
•Collaborate with Technical team (Channel and Direct) to create solutions to complex customers problems and collaterals to drive adoption and software revenues


•Master’s degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Illumination, Automotive or Aerospace) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and strong fundamentals in non-imaging optics, photometry.
•A minimum of 3 years of experience in use of ANSYS OPTIS products or demonstrated use of relevant commercial Optical and Visualization software to solve real-world engineering problems in optics or illumination engineering.
•Willing to travel extensively (about 25-50% out of town travel across India)


•Working knowledge of automotive signaling lamps and Interior lighting is desirable
•Working knowledge of CAD programs (CATIA V5, NX, CREO, SpaceClaim etc.) is desirable
•Experience with programing languages like C/C++, MATLAB, VB script is desirable
•Possesses a sense of urgency, passion, strong organizational and follow up skills
•Demonstrated skills in writing and presenting in Fluent English
•Interested in working with customers
