JOB SUMMARY

As a valued member of ANSYS’ South West EMEA management team, the Regional Controller - SWE is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for the ANSYS legal entities located in the South West European Territory (Currently ANSYS Iberia, ANSYS Italia & ANSYS Belgium) and assisting the regional management team to budget and forecast in order to run the region’s business functions effectively.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Maintain US GAAP-based accounting within Oracle for ANSYS Iberia. This includes general ledger as well as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Fixed Asset ledgers;
Maintain credit control function;
Maintain relationship for payroll processing;
Prepare VAT, social charge and other government-related returns accurately and submit payments prior to deadlines;
Complete month-end closes in accordance with group requirements;
Prepare monthly financial reporting and tax calculations in accordance with US generally accepted accounting standards (GAAP) for timely submission to US Parent Company;
Maintain statutorily required documentation.
Manage internal and external audit process. Answer questions and provide information as requested. The external audit process includes government auditors for tax or government contract purposes.
Assist in the preparation of annual capital and operating budgets and help managers to understand them;
Provide financial guidance and assistance to other managers, both at the local level within Spain and to the SWE Regional Management team;
Prepare annual local tax filings.
Prepare annual statutory financial statements in accordance with Spanish laws;
Work with the Global Treasurer to maintain appropriate cash, investment and FX exposure levels
Supervise and support local Controller’s in Italy & Belgium to ensure compliance with all the above tasks.
Special projects as assigned;

JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training/Work Experience:
Qualified or Qualified by experience Accountant
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Accounting.
Technical and comprehensive knowledge of Spanish GAAP is required.
Experience in managing and motivating a small team.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
Must be a hands-on, detail-oriented individual.
Understanding of Spanish & US GAAP differences.
Excellent written and verbal English language & communication skills are required.
Occasional international travel within Europe and the USA is required.

OTHER INFORMATION

Prior experience with Oracle EBS system and OBIEE reporting would be beneficial.
Prior holding of a senior position in the accounting department of a Spanish company owned by a U.S. public company is optimal.
Experience of budgeting within a subsidiary would be beneficial.
Mix of public and private company accounting experience is beneficial
