License Compliance Sales Specialist

SUMMARY

The License Compliance Sales Specialist (LCSS) is responsible for identifying and developing opportunities to generate business in a given geographical territory through license compliance cases. At the same time, the LCSS is responsible for advising customers how to comply with the law on copyright and on Intellectual Property. The LCSS needs to give guidance to the sales team and channel partner or conduct commercial negotiations which leads to a resolution of the license compliance case. In this role, the LCSS will work closely together with legal, sales, channels, external legal counsels, 3rd-party auditors and License Compliance service providers.
This is a quota-carrying sales role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Recover revenue lost to piracy and illegal software use
•Support the protection and enforcement of the company’s Intellectual Property Rights
•Identify suspected unauthorized users through different internal and external sources
•Contact the senior executives, including the CXO level, of the suspected companies to negotiate and secure a commercial settlement
•Set up discussions between our field sales, channel partners and suspected companies to negotiate a commercial solution
•Assist and participate in law enforcement actions with selected companies who refuse to comply
•Gather market information about license violation cases & industry best practices
•Work with the internal legal team, External Legal Counsel, 3rd-party Audit firms, Law Enforcement agencies and initiate legal actions if necessary
•Should be a self-motivator, independent contributor and go-getter in sales approach

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelor’s degree with an engineering, business or legal focus, or equivalent, which is at least 4 years
•Must also have at least 5 years of work experience in a License Compliance role with a multi-national software company
•Strong negotiation and communication skills and sales driven

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•Experience with IP and Copyright laws in India
•Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality
•Ability to foster teamwork
