Lead Application Engineer - Electromechanical Systems (m/f/d)

SUMMARY
ANSYS is seeking a lead application engineer with a strong technical expertise in the area of applied numerical simulation for development and analysis of electromechancial systems. The lead application engineer applies technical insight, business acumen, and a broad understanding of market requirements to guide, define and execute technical activities that maximize the value of pervasive simulation in the product development process.

RESPONSIBILITIESS
  • Support sales engagements and demonstrate the value of ANSYS simulation technology.
  • Help customers apply simulation to design and verify performance of electromechanical components, and systems.
  • Challenge assumptions and innovate to develop new approaches that address a wide spectrum of challenges related to electric drives, motors, power electronics, and electromechanical systems.
  • Actively engage customers and share insights to help them realize the value of their investment in ANSYS.
  • Present solutions to customers, prospects and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the ANSYS community by documenting success and sharing ideas.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor degree in electrical engineering with focus on electric drives, generators and/or power electronics.
  • Solid understanding of applied numerical electromagnetics and circuit simulation for motors, generators.
  • Industrial experience designing or testing electric drives, power electronics or power generation equipment.
  • Solid background in electric motor and generator topology and applications.
  • Understanding of control systems for electric machines.
  • Understanding of cost, size and performance trade-offs in drives and generators.
  • Ability to describe complex technical concepts to a range of audiences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with Matlab, Python, or another high-level programming language applied to solving problems in mathematics, engineering or physics.
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility and susceptibility.
  • Familiarity with high performance computing and schedulers.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system.
  • Automotive or aerospace industrial experience is desirable.
