Business Development Manager, Consulting (m/f)

SUMMARY

The Consulting Business Development Manager (BDM) (m/f) is responsible for driving/growing training business and achieving the consulting services plan in their geography. The successful candidate will grow the consulting business by partnering with Sales Management, Sales account managers, Technical account managers, Presales, and support teams to drive adoption of ANSYS software in customers’ engineering departments. The successful candidate will have a heavy emphasis on customer facing business development activity and work with Sales to develop customer roadmaps and account strategies, identify consulting opportunities, assessing customer services needs, educate customers (both external and internal) about ANSYS consulting offerings, scopes and proposes consulting programs, and closes consulting business. The Consulting BDM’s responsibilities also include creation of consulting sales campaigns in conjunction with Sales and Marketing as well as contributing to and improving the consulting portfolio. Success will also require this individual to leverage all marketing and product assets.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Regional Sales Directors and Account Managers to collaboratively develop and proactively execute strategies that drive consulting bookings in support of adoption and expansion of ANSYS technologies.
  • Assess individual and organizational consulting needs, especially at customers with enterprise agreements, and propose a program to address those consulting needs.
  • Work closely with regional sales on developing relationships with champions who are responsible for the successful adoption of ANSYS software.
  • Together with the Technical Account Manager or Application Engineering team, define and design transformational projects for targeted customers
  • Collaborate with Consulting Portfolio team to ensure that consulting offerings being produced align with market demand
  • Promote awareness of ANSYS consulting offerings and capabilities by developing marketing material, success stories, and references that help drive revenue growth.
  • Create strategic partnerships with trade organizations, other companies, and universities that help us grow revenue and find new opportunities.
  • Consulting business forecasting and reporting.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum eight years’ experience in direct sales, technical sales support, or consulting services.
  • Must have experience having sales targets and demonstrated success in achieving targets
  • Must have previous experience in business development activities
  • Must have excellent communications and organizational skills. Written communications skills a must.
  • Demonstrated skills in writing and presenting in fluent English and German.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Record of achievement in an Account Manager or Application Engineer role preferred
  • Proven/documented sales or consulting ability
  • Travel up to 50%
