Assistant Controller - UK


The Assistant Controller - UK is responsible for assisting the Regional Controller in meeting the internal and external reporting requirements of ANSYS’ UK companies.


Maintain US GAAP-based accounting within Oracle for assigned companies. This includes general ledger as well as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Fixed Asset ledgers;
Prepare VAT and other government-related returns as required accurately and submit relevant payments prior to deadlines;
Complete month-end closes in accordance with group requirements;
Prepare monthly financial reporting and tax calculations in accordance with US generally accepted accounting standards (GAAP) for timely submission to US Parent Company;
Maintain statutorily required documentation.
Participate in internal and external audit process. Answer questions and provide information as requested. The external audit process includes government auditors for tax or government contract purposes.
Assist in the preparation of annual capital and operating budgets and help managers to understand them;
Provide financial guidance and assistance to other managers
Assist in preparing annual local tax filings.
Assist in preparing annual statutory financial statements in accordance with FRS 102.
Special projects as assigned;


Qualified Accountant
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Accounting.
Technical and comprehensive knowledge of UK GAAP is required.
Experience in supervising a small team.
Must be a hands-on, detail-oriented individual.
Understanding of UK & US GAAP differences.
Excellent written and verbal English language & communication skills are required.
Occasional international travel within Europe and the USA is required.


Prior experience with Oracle EBS system and OBIEE reporting would be beneficial.
Prior holding of a senior position in the accounting department of a UK company owned by a U.S. public company is optimal.
Experience of budgeting within a subsidiary would be beneficial.
Mix of public and private company accounting experience is beneficial
