Application Engineer II

SUMMARY
The Application Engineer II will be responsible for applying advanced-level optical and engineering knowledge using the ANSYS SPEOS and ANSYS VRXPERIENCE software, for lighting and sensor simulations. The Application Engineer II will also be involved in the relationship with the regional customers with significant impact on software revenue, as well as for helping customers to solve complex engineering problems using ANSYS software products. This role provides technical pre-sales support throughout the entire sales process.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Gaining knowledge and expertise on the broad ANSYS portfolio to support the ANSYS customers in their innovations
• Lead and assist in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity such as customer meetings and product presentations, demonstrations, evaluations, and justification of a good return on investment for the customer
• Analyze technical needs, requirements and state of a customers’ current infrastructure, operations, and engineering workflows; creating new processes for the customers and their business
• Create and demonstrate simulation solutions to streamline customer workflows, in support of the software sales process
• Participate in internal corporate initiatives to further enhance the solution suites, presales/sales enablement and professional growth
• Responsible for articulating ANSYS’ value proposition, which may encompass its entire suite of products
• Instruct introductory and/or intermediate training classes on the usage of ANSYS products
• Create elegant and useful solutions to solve complex business problems by working across various teams and understanding the needs of our customers

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• MS degree in Applied Math, Computer Sciences, Physics or Computer Engineering
• Experience in optical engineering and design
• Experience in program languages, including C/C++, Matlab Simulink or VB script
• Experience with customers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• University degree in Physics field
• 2-4 years professional experience in Optics area (optical engineer / optical knowledge / optical design knowledge / sensor simulation and/or hardware in the loop is a plus; previous SPEOS user, or alternatively LightTools, CodeV, LucidShape, Scaner, Car Maker, Virtual Test Drive, VRed, Deltagen user)
• Catia V5, NX, and/or ANSYS SpaceClaim knowledge is a plus
• Knowledge of illumination technology is a plus
• Knowledge photometric measurements is a plus
• Knowledge of optical light simulations and concepts definition is a plus
• Knowledge on radar, lidar and/or camera (actual devices and/or simulation models) is a plus
• Knowledge in virtual reality is a plus
• Knowledge of programming language (C++, C#, HTML, Matlab / Simulink, Scade) is a plus
• Team work, innovation, quality and cost thinking, open mind and very good communication skills
• Advanced English
• Swedish is an advantage
